Summer school Between Signals
August 18 – 21, Delft
We are thrilled to announce our upcoming Social Design Summer School. This unique educational opportunity allows you to immerse yourself in social design methodologies and integrate them into your own (design) practices.
Throughout this four-day course, you will work on a project to be showcased at the Dutch Design Week (DDW). Together with us, you’ll focus on components of the installation ‘Between signals: A space for meaningful encounters beyond the screen’. Join us to explore what makes an encounter meaningful, learn how to facilitate such interactions, and contribute to creating positive social change.
Muzus is known for creating eye-catching installations and exhibits at the DDW. Last year’s installation Meaningful Encounters was one of them. We believe in the magic of co-creation. By bringing together creative minds and fostering collaboration, we transform ideas into powerful concepts together.
About this event
Creating positive social change
Social design is a powerful tool for creating positive social change. It addresses critical societal challenges, promotes inclusivity and sustainability, empowers communities, and drives solutions centered around the needs of the target audience. By integrating social design principles into various aspects of society, we can build a more equitable, resilient, and sustainable future. Because of this, we see social design becoming more important for all design disciplines.
Meaningful encounters are at the heart of social design and the installation Between Signals during Dutch Design Week 2025. But what defines a meaningful encounter beyond the screen? When can it truly exist, and what is required to facilitate one?
Join our Summer School to explore the concept of meaningful encounters from diverse perspectives and enhance your understanding of social design.

Why a summer school?
Professional development
Our 4-day Summer School provides a focused and comprehensive learning journey, merging theoretical insights, practical applications, and professional growth. During the course, you’ll delve deeply into Social Design and its foundational theories. This high-intensity program, led by experts from Muzus, will motivate you with exemplary cases and encourage you to apply these concepts in your own professional career.
From day one, you’ll dive into designing a conversation starter. This hands-on Summer School will have you working on the Meaningful Encounters case, providing practical experience and real-world application.
Of all the designs that will be made during the summer school, a select number of designs will be chosen for production and featured at the DDW. We will make this selection together at the end of the week. All other designs will also be showcased in the exhibition.
