#Gewoonmeedoen
One in four young people has a chronic condition.
These young people often struggle with reconciling challenges with ambitions.
How do we help young people with disabilities discover their ambitions, dreams and needs?
How do we ensure that they can realize them?
With the support of the Agis Innovation Fund, we developed a teaching package in co-creation with Mytylschool De Brug and Rijndam Rehabilitation on the importance of leisure activities for young people with a chronic disability.
Leisure activities for young people with disabilities
Phase 1: Context mapping
In the first phase of this project we explored through context mapping interviews with young people, parents, rehabilitation doctors and therapists of Rijndam Rehabilitation how to give more attention to leisure activities of young people with disabilities.
A lot of attention goes to school and homework and hobbies are often forgotten.
Transportation is a big barrier, the current offer is low and for trying new things you need self-confidence.
A curriculum for school
Phase 2:#JustMeed
We realized that a very large part of young people’s lives takes place at school, and this is the place to highlight leisure activities.
Precisely because the social aspect plays such an important role in young people’s lives.
Making friends and being together is often what it’s all about.
In the second phase, we therefore developed in co-creation a teaching package for school to promote leisure activities among young people with disabilities and organized leisure activities at school.
