Making retirement tangible
For most people, retirement is something they don’t consciously consider until the end of their careers. Everyone wants to grow old, but no one wants to be old. People put off talking about later. Because a conversation about the future, always feels too early, until it’s too late. People can’t imagine the future.

In conversation with the future
The Future Confession
The challenge of this social design project, lies in making retirement more tangible and tangible from people’s individual experience. There is no single problem owner to point to for this issue; we need to work and cooperate differently in this regard, with the entire sector. With the design intervention De Toekomstbiecht, in which the phone rings and you hear a voicemail message from your future, we enter into a dialogue with the Dutch about possible futures and their needs. We co-create a future world with the Vision in Product Design methodology and we design solutions in co-creation with the consortium to make retirement more tangible for people.
