As early as 2019, we are working to realize evidence-based practice in the work and income domain. In cooperation with MinSZW, UWV, TNO, Movisie, Divosa, SAM, the National Clients Council and a large number of municipalities we developed Kopkrakers. An app and intervision tool where dilemmas trigger to delve into scientific knowledge.

Which course of action do you choose?
In the app, you are presented with a dilemma and must choose between two courses of action, both good. This brings client managers and other reintegration professionals into contact with different approaches with different foundations. This triggers a discussion among them: what do you choose, and why?

Warmly received
From its inception, head-scratchers has been warmly received by professionals and policymakers alike: finally a tool that connects research to practice, and stimulates conversation about how to work in the complex world of guiding people to work.
Last year, Muzus was commissioned by ZonMw to build the first version of the app together with De Voorhoede. And tested it together with TNO at municipalities and UWV. The client managers and other professionals who tried it were enthusiastic about the concept. So much so that people asked if head-scratchers could also be developed for their managers; then they could get acquainted with the unruliness of the professionals’ work in an accessible way.
