Beaver: Outside needs you

Beaver strives for the right balance with nature in everything they do. As a retail chain, they know they must take responsibility for their own contribution to a global problem of overproduction, overconsumption and mountains of waste full of unnecessarily discarded products. Christian de Jong (Manager Sustainability and Services) asked Muzus and Comparable how they can move from a product- to a service-oriented business model.

Circular shopping: What are customers' needs?

We worked out one service, the clothing repair service, in detail. How do we connect a clothing repair service to customer needs and experience? What services already exist, what are the numbers? Think about the laundry service or the shoe service. What are the needs and experiences of customers? What do Bever employees think about this service? From our insights, we developed a recommendation for their future clothing repair service.

Most sustainable retail chain

Outdoor retailer Bever has been chosen as ‘ABN AMRO Sustainable Retailer of the Year‘ 2022-2023. Recently Bever was featured in episode ‘the disposable society’ of VPRO Tegenlicht. We need to put an end to the enormous waste in today’s consumer society, but how do we get it done? In this episode you will hear stories of designers who make products for life, stores that repair instead of sell and consumers who cherish their stuff unconditionally.
